St Bride’s has been invited to be a hub church for a Walk of Witness called "Walk to COP26- Merseyside'' on Saturday 9 October. This is being supported and promoted by the Diocese, Christian Aid, Together Liverpool and Faiths4change.
Inspired by Young Christian Climate Network (YCCN) who want to see climate justice agreed at COP26 in November, there will be a total of 5 relay walks from across Merseyside to Liverpool Cathedral on 9 October.
There are two routes that will be approaching the city from the St Bride’s side of the cathedral, one from Speke and the other from Huyton and walkers will be able to stop off at the church for a comfort break and also to meet. As a "hub" church it also means that those who don't think they can walk too far can meet at St Bride’s and join the other walkers for the last leg of the to the Cathedral where the walkers’ prayers will be presented at Evensong at 3pm.
The walk is planned to leave St Brides at around 2:30pm to arrive at the cathedral in good time for Evensong.
Everyone at St Bride’s is invited to join in and walk in solidarity as we seek climate justice. More information about the walk can be found on the Rise to the Moment: Relay to Cop 26 Facebook page

You are invited to pray
Please join us and pray for the UN Leaders who will be meeting in November. and also for safe passage of the YCCN members as they walk to Glasgow. Please pray that the UN leaders will see Climate Change as a global emergency and that they will commit to ensure that people are protected and not only bank balances, that they will ensure that no country will go into debt tackling climate change, especially those countries who are most affected from climate change yet have contributed the least.
YCCN are asking us to write our prayers on paper and then fold the paper into an origami boats - our message is "We are all in the same storm but we are not in the same boat". Your prayer boats will be collected to join the others that the walkers have from their churches and taken for presentation at the cathedral. Then they will be taken up to Glasgow and form part of a national display.
