The restoration of the main church floor, which has been in the pipeline for more than three years, was worth the wait!

THE COMMUNITY which gathered at St Bride's this morning had the pleasant surprise of finding most of the pews gone and the main worship space revealing its full potential.

WE HAVE a new email address for managing pastoral care and safeguarding concerns within the parish.

Sadly we heard this week that our bid for a substantial grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund  (HLF) to restore and renew the St Bride's building has not been successful this time.

A new community market offering food at below market prices is to open in Liverpool on April 23rd at 11am. The market, at St Michael in the City on Upper Pitt Street, will help ease the financial pressure of those living in poverty or on the breadline.

At our annual parish meeting on Sunday 15th April, we heard an update on our 'Reimagining St Bride's' building project. We have now submitted our Heritage Lottery Fund bid, which is available on our website.

As a church grows, the number of different preferences and personality types that the church contains inevitably grows too!

One of the growing pains we’ve been having at St Bride's is a slight tension between the desire for silence and contemplation, which are really important strands in our corporate spirituality, and the desire for community and conversation, equally important to us.

Lent is one of the oldest known seasons in the church year, traditionally a time of fasting and preparation for the feast of Easter, when new Christians were taught the faith and all reflected as a community on the life and death of Jesus.

Our new team Rector, Miranda Threlfall-Holmes, was inducted into the parish four months ago today. This is her reflection on her first 'term' with us:

MORE THAN 200 people attended a special celebration on Thursday 10th August to welcome a new Team Rector to the Anglican parish at the heart of Liverpool.
