Congratulations to our Guy!
Revd Canon Guy Elsmore, Rector of St Luke in the City Team Parish 2005-2016
It is with a mixture of delight and sadness that we announce that Guy Elsmore has been appointed as the new Archdeacon of Buckingham in the Diocese of Oxford.
For some while Guy has been participating in a generic process of preparation for senior leadership roles within the Church of England and has expressed a clear sense of calling to this specific post.
Guy and Petra were particularly concerned that good provision should be made for their two younger children and we are told that Marcus has a place at the excellent Special School near Stoke Mandeville Hospital and Lucy will attend a small village school. The family will live just outside Aylesbury.
The specific need for the children to take up, and thus secure, their school places means that the family will move rather sooner than is usual in these cases. Guy’s last Sunday at St Bride’s/in the parish will be on 3rd July when we shall have the opportunity to say an appropriate farewell. In the meanwhile, along with our congratulations, we surround Guy, Petra, Marcus and Lucy with our love and prayers as they make this significant change in their family life.
