Conceived in sin: the fun of it! St Bride’s Public Theology Lecture with John Bell

  • St Bride's Liverpool Percy St Liverpool L8 7LT (map)

Refreshments from 5.30pm, lecture begins at 6.00pm

The doctrine of original sin, more than any other theological construct, led to untold awkwardness with regard to issues of gender and sexuality in the Christian churches.

Its foundations, which are not secure, need a bit of shaking for the benefit of the biased and beleaguered alike.

John Bell is a Resource Worker with The Iona Community, who lectures, preaches and conducts seminars across the denominations. He is a hymn writer, author and occasional broadcaster, but retains a primary passion for congregational song.

The St Bride’s Public Theology Lecture series brings nationally renowned theologians and philosophers to Liverpool to deliver papers from the cutting edge of thought about the Divine and our world.

No need to book, just turn up! The event is free, though we will invite donations to help cover costs.
