Stories around an Open Table

Bigger Table.jpg

An evening of story and poetry from queer people of faith, with music by Liverpool LGBT Choir, celebrating the growth of the Open Table network across the Diocese of Liverpool and beyond over the past 10 years.

Open Table is an ecumenical Christian worship community which offers a warm welcome to people who are: Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer / Questioning, Intersex, Asexual (LGBTQIA) and all who seek an inclusive Church: www.opentable.lgbt

We hope to have members of each of the 17 Open Table communities across England and Wales there - the Bishop of Bradford, who is contributing to the Church of England's new teaching document on marriage and sexuality - 'Living In Love and Faith' - will join us to hear our stories too.

In March 2019 it's the Diocese of Liverpool's turn to host Bishops In Mission, where each northern Diocese hosts teams led by northern bishops for a series of events. The theme of Bishops In Mission is 'Tell : Serve : Give' - so we're inviting Open Table members and friends to tell stories about reconciling gender identity, sexual orientation, faith or spirituality, and how Open Table has played a part in that (if that is true for you.)

This is a great event to invite a friend to as it isn’t a church service. After the event, you’re welcome to stay and share more stories over a simple supper of soup and bread.

If you have a story to tell, please contact Kieran by calling 07501753618 or email opentablelgbt@gmail.com by Friday 1st March - Stories should be no more than 1000 words in length. See you there? #BringOneFriend
