Francis Bennett is an American spiritual teacher and retreat leader who is speaking in Liverpool during April 9th-11th 2016, hosted by St Bride’s Liverpool.
Francis was a Trappist monk for a number of years and was also a member of an urban, contemplative monastic community originally in Paris. He was an avid spiritual seeker throughout his entire time as a contemplative monk and, inspired by the pioneering Christian 20th Century mystic, Thomas Merton, studied deeply in the Theravadan Buddhist practice of Vipassana, as well as studying and practicing Japanese Zen.
Francis devotes his time to offering spiritual direction and teaching to guide people in their spiritual quest, drawing on the spirituality of east and west.
His teaching points to the divinity at the heart of reality and inspires people to fully authentic awakened living appropriate to the times in which we live. He has published two books: “I Am that I Am” (2013) and “Fully Human, Fully Divine” (later this year).
