Coronavirus Update 26/8/2020

St Bride’s currently remains closed for public worship.

This is because we have taken the decision, as a team, to use our 3 church buildings for different things in this pandemic season. St Bride’s is our dedicated social justice hub; it has been open throughout lockdown for the Micah Foodbank that St Bride’s is a founding partner in, and we want to continue to keep the space safe and available for activities like this that serve those must vulnerable during the pandemic. We are currently carrying out risk assesments and asking our other partner organisations to do the same, with a view to additional activities opening up soon.

We are continuing to meet online - join us for morning prayer at 9.15am daily and for communion at 10am on Sunday. This will be live on our Team Parish of St Luke in the City Facebook page, and afterwards will be uploaded to our YouTube channel.

We are carrying out continuity planning. Our principles are: loving God and our neighbour; building community; and protecting the most vulnerable.

The only activity that continues in St Bride’s building is the Michah Foodbank on Thursdays, with stringent new precautions. Please visit the Micah Liverpool website with the latest updates from their twitter feed for up to date information about either receiving food, volunteering or donating food.

Local volunteering efforts are being co-ordinated by Liverpool City Council. Please visit the dedicated Coronavirus update page for more information and to either request or offer help.

The latest Church of England advice, including information about weddings, funerals and christenings, can be found here.

Our two sister churches in the team are St Michael in the City and St Dunstan’s, Earle Road - please check out their websites for further information on our activities and some in-person worship beginning again in September.

God of love,
Circle us with your grace and hope.
Protect we pray all those who suffer
In body, mind or spirit.
Protect and strengthen all those working in our health services,
all those in our local and national governments with planning responsibilities,
all local businesses and those with financial worries
all those who are facing an increase in racism or other abuse
and all those who are already isolated or alone.
Fill our parish, our diocese, our country and our world
With your spirit of love and compassion.
May the light of life burn brightly in our communities,
And may we know the peace that passes all understanding.
Amen.
