UPDATE - This event has been rescheduled from 5th May. If you already have a ticket, it is valid for the new date.
Organisers behind the Save Our St Bride’s campaign (#SOStBrides) are delighted to announce the latest event in the fundraising campaign.
Brides at St Bride's is calling all blushing brides, beautiful bridesmaids, and dashing groomsmen to dig out their old wedding attire and walk down the aisle at St Bride’s Church and attend a fantastic retro wedding party on Saturday 5th May.
Hosted by Radio City’s Pete Price, the evening will include a screening of the hilarious 2011 comedy film Bridesmaids starring Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Maya Rudolph and Rose Byrne. There will also be a pop-up bar to purchase fizz and cocktails, as well as a buffet kindly provided by Living Ventures.
No wedding party would be complete without a disco to end the night, so prepare to showcase your best moves on the dancefloor with a live DJ playing a whole host of cheesy tunes including all the classic wedding favourites.
There will also be lots of prizes to be won for the most adventurously dressed guests, and a fabulous and exclusive free retro cocktail for all those who attend in wedding attire.
Proceeds from the evening will go towards the upkeep of this beautiful Georgian place of worship. Recent events in the campaign have included A Night of Musicals featuring leading West End performers Emma Dears and Craig Price; An Evening of Opera which featured internationally-acclaimed classical tenor Roy Weissensteiner; and a Choirfest and summer fair.
Liverpool-based singer Emma, who launched the Save Our St Bride’s campaign, said:
'I am incredibly excited about the Brides at St Brides night. The previous events have all had an incredible turn out and proved to be a huge success, raising several thousand pounds towards vital repairs to this beautiful landmark; and this latest fundraiser with the screening of Bridesmaids promises to be even better! St Brides is a stunning Church and to see it filled with Brides will be amazing!
'Shortly after I had this idea, Prince Harry announced his Royal wedding, so we decided to host the event the same month in honour of that!
'It promises to be a hilarious night that you can share with all your friends, one you won’t forget in a hurry and you will be helping a great cause, with all money raised going towards the Save Our St Brides Fund.'
Gather up the bridesmaids, bring along the mother-in-law and get on down to Brides at St Bride's this May.
