The second reconnaissance visit to the Peak Pilgrimage route in preparation for our Parish Pilgrimage in Spring 2019 was a 7-mile walk from Alstonefield to Hartington on Wednesday 20th June.
Our Church Warden Dave Bradley guided three others from Alstonefield to the old Hartington station on the Tissington Trail via Wolfscote Dale, Beresford Dale and the lovely village of Hartington, with a choice of teashops!
The Dales themselves were a treat - experienced walker Dave described them as 'some of the loveliest I have ever walked through. I'm getting a bit concerned as a pilgrimage should surely involve some hardship!'
The next recce will be from Hartington Station to Monyash on Thursday 16th August. Watch this space for an update.
